KIRO TV Seattle is looking for a talented Reporter to join the team! This seasoned anchor joins an elite team of broadcasters and is responsible for writing stories and anchoring newscasts. We are looking for a high-energy communicator with strong writing and storytelling skills to help engage a new generation of listeners. The winning candidate must know how to manage tight deadlines, work independently on copy and take direction from a producer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Write news stories that are clear, accurate and unbiased
Deliver news copy on air with a conversational and engaging delivery
Read and understand complex material and turn it into easily understood copy under deadline pressure
Anchor live coverage of breaking news and/or special coverage
Conduct live and/or taped interviews
Ability to develop and effectively pitch story ideas
Be consistently up to date on local, national and international stories
Experience with news software like Newsboss or Burli
Connect with listeners on social and digital platforms to promote the brand

Minimum Qualifications

At least 5 years of anchoring experience is required
Minimum education of a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or a related field
Extensive on-air background
Strong writing and editorial skills
Ability to narrate, ad-lib and add value to live breaking news and severe weather coverage
Ability to be an idea-generating journalist with a positive attitude and a standout work ethic
Must be willing to work a schedule that includes holidays and non-traditional work hours

The wage scale for this position is $34.50 per hour to $41.00 per hour.
