KTLA in Los Angeles, the #1 station in the nation's second-largest market is taking applications for Anchor/Reporter. We're on the lookout for a dynamic presenter with a passion for storytelling and a solid background in news reporting. The ideal candidate must be a credible and experienced news anchor/reporter who possesses strong editorial news judgment and has a proven record of collaboration and positive teamwork.
Responsibilities
Anchor assigned newscasts with exceptional reporting, communication and interviewing skills
Report on daily news assignments and contribute to daily enterprise content.
Contribute story ideas and cover news as assigned by management including in the field.
Report on live breaking news with confidence, engage and connect with audience.
Collaborate with photographers, producers, management, co-anchors and production teams to deliver top quality newscasts and news reports.
Represent KTLA at community events, speaking engagements, and promotions.
Support positive newsroom culture, collaborate and foster an environment of integrity.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of combined anchoring and reporting experience in a large market.
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Strong journalistic background, superior on-air presence, and excellent writing skills.
Ability to handle constructive criticism and perform under pressure.
Willingness to appear live on broadcasts in a professional manner.
Availability for news coverage, potential extra hours, and flexibility with assigned newscasts.
Positive collaboration with colleagues and effective interaction with the public.
Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Candidates must have a solid resume reel showcasing professional on-camera anchoring and reporting.
This position is covered under the Company’s collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA.
Compensation - $82/hr+ commensurate with experience and skill level
