The Company Town team is looking for an ambitious and passionate reporter to join a team of talented journalists covering the entertainment business during a period of rapid transformation in Hollywood.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

This is a general assignment entertainment news position. This reporter will help the team cover the major media companies as they navigate big changes in consumer habits and will be asked to develop authority on and own several crucial more specialized beats. Possible areas of focus include tracking important stories on the Hollywood labor front, including the current standoff between writers and agents, and covering film set safety and diversity in the workplace.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have at least five years of reporting experience, preferably in the media business, and a track record of cultivating sources and landing scoops. They must be able to write quickly and accurately on deadline, and should be comfortable producing a range of story types, from quick news items to comprehensive and illuminating profiles, from lucid news analysis to enterprise investigation. They must also be comfortable working occasional nights and weekends as news dictates.
