Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and business savvy Communications Specialist Contractor to join our team. The Communications Specialist will oversee the social media and communications strategies for the Lantern releases and development in English. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how to speak about the non-profit work Lantern is doing and be able to tell our story creatively. Attention to detail and compliance with relevant laws and regulations will be crucial in this role.
NOTE: This is a contract position expected to work 10-20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Help define & champion Lantern’s target audiences, messaging, and positioning
Create and develop content to share across various marketing channels
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
Navigate complex social and political environments and maintain cultural sensitivity in an international market
Improve conversion rates, including landing pages, upgrade pages, renewal pages, and any other touchpoint for our products
Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
Create and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and analyses of internal results
Leverage network and develop strategies to promote fundraising efforts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or a related field
2+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a focus on non-profit
Previous exposure within a b2c technology environment preferred
Knowledge of graphic design and media editing software preferred
Strong project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment, setting objectives, and prioritizing activities based on impact
Independent, self-motivated, and proactive. You don’t require constant input, and you have meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication, management, interpersonal skills
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to navigate complex social and political environments
Highly curious, you are always wanting to know the “why” behind actions
Ability to transform data into insights
You are fluent in English, and are an effective communicator and writer
