Global Investigations Review, a leading international news, analysis and data platform covering the intricacies of cross-border investigations into corporate wrongdoing, is looking for an experienced reporter to join its team in the US. You’ll be part of a US-based team of reporters responsible for GIR’s coverage of foreign bribery and sanctions law, policy, investigations and enforcement developments – a fast-moving area following Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine and last year’s Biden administration proclamation denoting global corruption as a top national security priority. You will write for a global expert audience comprising white-collar investigations and compliance professionals at law firms, government agencies, professional services firms and major companies. In addition to covering relevant news, you will be expected to build on the team’s established track-record in delivering relevant high-quality, in-depth analysis and regular scoops on new processes and personnel changes at major agencies including the DOJ, SEC and OFAC. You will also drive coverage of new trends or underreported yet integral elements of international investigations into corporate corruption and sanctions evasion. This is an amazing opportunity for a reporter with demonstrable experience producing daily news and enterprise stories to take a next step in their career. The successful candidate is a self-starter who enjoys scouring court documents, company reports, the filing of freedom of information requests and talking to a wide range of sources to inform their reporting. They can turn complex subject matter into easily readable and engaging prose. They don’t shy away from challenging stories or assignments, and are at ease speaking with senior white-collar lawyers, business leaders and government officials.
