Our client is a central London creative agency and they are working with a tech retail client to build an in-house dedicated creative team. Based one day on site with the team at the client (London EC2) and 4 days working from home or in the agency offices if preferred, this lead writer will manage a team of two writers and join a team of 10 (incl account managers) who are dedicated to this client, specifically the Employer brand/recruitment team.

The contract is paying a pro rata of £75K. This will be via the agency payroll (not freelance via a Limited company).

The tech retail business has thousands of employees across UK and EMEA and this role will be to write and conceive campaigns and also oversee the content produced by the two other writers. The main purpose of the team's work will be to attract employees to join the business, using an integrated mix of media, to attract the potential employees - where they look. Previous 360 campaign experience, working with writers in multiple languages and clients in overseas territories, overseeing transcreation of the campaigns is a must.

This is a FTC, start asap, until end of March 2024 initially. It is possible that the contract might be extended. The lead writer will work closely with the two writers, an art director and the CD.

As well as a talented copywriter we are looking for:

Previous experience working on fast-moving research, strategic and creative briefs and delivering them to the business - both on budget and on time
Previous team management and mentoring
Brand guardianship with transcreation experience
A good stakeholder manager – used to navigating a complex business, a diplomat, a good process-minded individual

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead a team of copywriters to ensure the messaging is consistent, on-brand, on-brief across our marketing collateral across paid, owned and earned activations and languages
Oversee and own copy production during campaign periods (including approval) across EMEA full-funnel campaign touchpoints
Oversee transcreation of assets across in-house and agency teams
Create and manage complex messaging matrixes that bring to life the campaign strategy, speak to the audience and meet our communication objectives
Manage external agencies to ensure a consistent approach to messaging and TOV is being used correctly in channel
Facilitate / take part in creative concept sessions, leading copy development and considerations
Work collaboratively with the Art Director to deliver content solutions identified by the Content Lead and Executives
Identify new opportunities by actively bridging the gap between different teams and disciplines (e.g. Creative + Strategy + Web + SEO)
Work with web experience team to ensure our new content work stream integrates and translates online
Suggest and test A/B measurement opportunities + ensure your team learn from campaign and content performance results
Work collaboratively with discipline leads to ensure best in-channel creative is being produced
Outside of campaign production periods, you will focus your time on organic content development and production alongside content performance reviews and improvements

Must have experience

Lead / managed teams (ideally people with multiple languages.)
Strong English language written and verbal skills with experience in transcreation work for previous clients.
Experience briefing writers to transcreate in multiple languages
Able to work with ambiguity and take ownership with little direction
Experience working in a team that covers multiple disciplines (e.g. creative, strategy, web etc)
