Multimedia Journalist

The Southern Illinoisan seeks a part-time multimedia journalist to join its award-winning staff. This position is for a general assignment reporter who will work up to 30 hours per week, and carries a strong expectation of self-shot video, to accompany long-form digital story-telling and the ability to act urgently in breaking news on our digital platforms. The Southern Illinoisan, headquartered in Carbondale, is the daily newspaper for Southern Illinois - a vibrant market and home to Southern Illinois University and the Shawnee National Forest. Our collaborative newsroom values investigative and urgent breaking multimedia journalism that makes a difference for our community. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who will bring fresh ideas and creative storytelling skills to our newsroom.
