The Los Angeles Times is seeking a business reporter to cover the economy through the experience of consumers in Southern California and beyond. This person will cover trends in retail and ecommerce, consumer exploitation and profiteering, how changes in the economy affect consumer behavior, and developments around the cost and availability of consumer goods, among other topics. The ideal candidate will be able to find and write engaging, important and resonant stories about how people spend – or are unjustly parted from – their money.
