MailOnline is looking for a UK Live Coverage Editor to join our team in our London office.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with extensive media experience who thrives in a fast-paced news environment.
You will be responsible for covering a wide range of both UK and global topics and be an integral part of our team, covering live events with speed, personality and authority.
The ideal candidate will have experience of live blog reporting, a solid understanding of data and will be a key part of implementing our audience growth strategy.
They must have strong writing skills, be sensitive to editorial tone and have the ability to work with editors and reporters across a variety of desks.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the MailOnline’s live blogs
Work with a team of journalists to produce high-quality, engaging live coverage of breaking news and events
Manage the flow of content on the blog, ensuring that it is timely, accurate, and informative
Edit and proofread all content before it is published
Work with our platform teams to amplify blog traffic
Collaborate with other departments such as the news desk, video team, and sports desk, to create a truly multi-platform live blogging experience
Qualifications
NCTJ – or equivalent - qualifications
Excellent journalistic skills, with experience in writing and editing news articles
Experience in live blogging, or a willingness to learn
Strong understanding of SEO and social media and how to use it to promote content
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
