Content marketing agency Mainland is seeking a copy editor. As an agency driven by the written word, we do countless writing projects for our clients every day, including but not limited to: sponsored content, press releases, bios, bylined articles, media pitches, website copy, blog posts, social media calendars and more. We are searching for an AP Style expert who is business-minded, thoughtful, driven -- and a stickler for the details.
This role will support our fast-growing content team through editing a portion of our client content deliverables including media pitching profiles, aggregated content and other tier one sponsored content pieces. The person in this role will also produce a handful of content pieces per month as well
Applicants should be prepared to take a writing and editing test as part of the process.
Expectations:
Edit roughly 10 pieces of content per day including but not limited to social media calendars, franchisee profiles, aggregated content and listicle type articles.
Contribute 15 pieces of written content per month, including signature stories and writing guides.
Qualifications:
2-4 years writing experience, preferably at a business publication or PR agency
B.A. or B.S. in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations (or applicable field)
Ability to be proactive and assertive
An impressive book of writing clips
Ability to create, develop and execute articles, story angles and pitches
Superb communication skills
Experience in WordPress, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Photoshop a plus)
