Managing Editor

The Brookings Register, based in Brookings, South Dakota, seeks a managing editor to lead the editorial department at an award-winning daily newspaper. Three to five years experience in the newspaper field required, plus experience in news writing, copy editing, AP style, photography and photo editing, and managing website and social media content. Page layout experience preferred, but will train the right candidate. Duties also include hiring, coaching and managing newsroom staff, including assigning stories, as well as filling in on reporting duties as needed. This position includes night and weekend hours.
