Managing Editor

Alt-Meat is a Chicago-based, new venture for an established, award-winning B2B publisher that has exceeded its first-year goals and is ready to fuel further growth. We seek a managing editor to add rocket fuel to our growth, get in on what is still the ground floor of a successful enterprise, help write strategy and commit top-quality journalism every day. This multi-tasking master will contribute to a second, more established title as well. The Alt-Meat platform includes a website (Alt-Meat.net), a newsletter (Alt-Meat News), a truly beautiful print publication (Alt-Meat), our podcast (MeatingPod) and a growing social media presence (@Alt_Meat). Launched in the middle of the pandemic last year, interest in Alt-Meat has exceeded even our optimistic projections. We are adding this key editor to our staff to help build our production systems and internal processes into a strong foundation for future growth. This position also carries the title of “senior editor, Meatingplace,” our industry-leading business title covering the meat processing industry from farm to plate. As senior editor, this journalist will work with the rest of the Meatingplace team to contribute to its twice-daily newsletter and monthly publication, as well as podcasts, webinars, social media presence and so on.
