Black Love is a Black-owned media company dedicated to showcasing diverse representations of love within the Black community, and a division of The Confluential Company, a media & entertainment production studio and financier. Our endeavors span film/TV, original digital content, audio, live events, and social media. Originating with the groundbreaking BLACK LOVE docu-series, we've evolved to provide a wide spectrum of digital content and live experiences that affirm, educate, and entertain the Black Gen-Z & Millennial audience.

As the Managing Editor, you will be at the helm of our website, steering the brand towards new heights of digital storytelling. You are expected to be a visionary – someone who perceives the brand's ethos with clarity and translates it into compelling content that resonates with our audience.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and implement an editorial vision that showcases the spectrum of Black Love, including familial, platonic, self-love, and community and lifestyle content.
Identify and guide content creators in producing compelling, relevant content that authentically reflects the facets of Black Love.
Take ownership of and accountability for key metrics that measure the success of content across all pillars, such as website traffic and user engagement metrics (page views, time on site, bounce rate), social media shares and interaction rates for website content & SEO rankings for targeted keywords and phrases
Use data-driven insights to adjust content strategies, ensuring balanced coverage across all pillars of Black Love that aligns with audience needs and brand objectives.
Seamlessly integrate editorial content with other media platforms to support and enhance the brand's overall message and reach.
Curate and maintain a dynamic editorial calendar that schedules diverse content, aligning with key cultural dates, community events, and brand milestones.
Engage with the brand’s community to ensure content remains aligned with audience interests and promotes a positive and inclusive representation of love in the black community

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

Extensive experience (7-10 years) in digital media, particularly in lifestyle or entertainment brands, with a successful track record in managing a content-driven website.
Strong understanding of the Black experience and culture, and how it intersects with expressions of love and relationships of all types.
Proven capability in using analytics tools to monitor site traffic and user engagement.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and influence a diverse team.
Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, social media, and production teams to create a cohesive and integrated brand experience.
Superb written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits

Black Love, Inc. provides a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience . Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, and flexible PTO.
