You will join the Benchmark Source team at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (Benchmark), the world’s leading intelligence provider for the electric vehicle (EV) and lithium ion battery supply chain.
You will be tasked with creating data-driven news, analysis, features, and other content for Benchmark’s multi-media subscription service Benchmark Source.
This will require information collection from both Benchmark’s expert teams of in-house analysts and from contacts from across the lithium ion battery supply chain from mine to EV. Coverage of other clean energy supply chains including rare earths, wind and solar will also be a focus.
Good telephone and written skills are key.
You will also be required to use Benchmark’s proprietary datasets and excel to support your written analysis. You will also work closely with Benchmark’s design teams to support the delivery of Benchmark’s online content, quarterly review magazine, infographics, newsletters, and video content.
It is key that you are a motivated individual that is eager to understand the energy storage revolution and the key commercial developments that are making it a reality.
As part of your role there will also be the opportunity for travel, particularly to the USA, Asia, and mainland Europe.
Over time it will be expected that you take on more responsibilities in the role so having a willingness for this is key.
This role will be primarily home working with regular in-person meet ups, but you will also be able to use space at Benchmark’s offices in London.
Key responsibilities:
• Support the production and delivery of Benchmark’s quarterly magazine and special issues
• Produce written analysis and content on the global energy storage supply chain for Benchmark’s website, magazine, website, and newsletters.
• Work with Benchmark’s analysts and use Benchmark’s data to support producing content
• Work with Benchmark’s design teams and data visualisation software to create graphics and charts
• Gather first-hand information from interviews and communications with key industry figures
• Develop contacts in lithium ion and other clean energy supply chains
• Engage with the wider Benchmark team to share insight and market information
• Support the Benchmark Source team to deliver high quality content
• Support day-to-day administrative tasks for the team
• Work with other teams (design, video, sales etc) to support the delivery of Benchmark content.
Requirements:
• University degree
• An interest in writing and journalism
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail
• Extremely comfortable working with data and excel
• Have a basic understanding of the battery industry and its supply chain (helpful, but not essential)
• Naturally self-organised
• Skills in data visualisation would be a plus
• Comfortable speaking to all members of Benchmark’s teams and senior representatives
• To work within the start-up culture and mentality of Team Benchmark, which can require travel and weekend work when travelling abroad.
