Intern, Video Engagement - Marketplace:
Every Friday the Marketplace Tech host sits down with an industry insider to review the big technology stories making headlines. ‘Bytes: a week in review’ uses video content alongside audio to offer the audience news they can use as they head into the weekend. Each episode includes the ‘big bytes’ segment which highlights a deal of record in the multi-trillion-dollar global industry.
The video engagement intern will pitch ideas and assist with identifying topics for coverage. This role supports efforts to increase the digital audience by creating short clips that amplify the weekly segment. The video engagement intern will listen and respond to audience interests across digital platforms through the creation of social cuts.

Responsibilities:
In this hands-on role, you will support the Marketplace Tech team with the following:
Conceive, write, shoot, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video content.
Experiment and create new video formats and series.
Be an expert on the digital media landscape who can anticipate and pounce on trends.
Serve as a point of communication between the social media and Tech teams.

Required Qualifications:
Enrolled Senior in an undergraduate or Master’s program OR have earned a degree within the last 12 months.
A demonstrated interest in journalism (i.e., produced work for publication, worked at school newspaper/radio, etc.).
Must have the ability to write clearly and accurately under strict deadlines and work independently.
Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience creating compelling, shareable video or other viral content (i.e. work can be for personal use, coursework or internships/jobs).
Experience with video editing.
Extremely knowledgeable about TikTok and YouTube.
A genuine interest in what makes content shareable and viral.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, roughly 9:00 – 5:00pm) for the duration of this internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or experience in journalism.
Ability to manage multiple projects throughout all stages of production.
An enthusiasm for pitching new ideas and concepts.
Experience with DSLRs and basic sound/lighting equipment.
Experience in front of the camera a plus.
