The America Middle-East Press Association (AMEPA), a non-partisan, privately funded organization, is looking to hire media advisors in the following cities: Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C.
Core Job Responsibilities:
As a Media Advisor, your primary responsibilities will include:
· Identifying, establishing, and nurturing relationships with key media contacts within your city – casting a wide net including a variety different media outlets, editorial chiefs and editorial staff members, presenters, journalists, popular bloggers, etc. – inviting them to participate in zoom briefings, in-person briefings, delegations to Israel, and connecting them to experts on a variety of topics.
· Successfully bringing journalists to the in-person briefings and delegations
· Being pro-active when it comes to outreach (in between briefings and delegations), assisting as needed and offering to connect media contacts with experts in Israel on a variety of topics for upcoming stories/reports including military, political, financial, agricultural, culture, fashion, music, tech, business, etc.
· Attending regular meetings to learn with – and from - one another as well as to discuss possible topic(s) for the next briefing and upcoming delegations to Israel
· Submitting reports on a regular basis to document progress
Qualifications:
· Passion for the mission
· Experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar role
· Experience managing media relations (broadcast, print, online)
· Superb communication skills (oral and written)
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work well independently
· Can-do attitude / problem-solving mentality
· Comfortable working in a distributed set-up
· Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
· PR or Media consultancy experience preferred but not required
· BS/BA in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field
· Open to occasional travel
