Minnesota Public Radio News is seeking an experienced editorial leader to join our award-winning newsroom, the only statewide public media network in Minnesota. We are committed to being the leader in creating trusted and meaningful listening experiences with and for curious people. We seek to create a more ambitious, diverse and inclusive culture focused on growth and journalism that better serve our audiences.  Along with the MPR president and the MPR News program director, you will champion the development of a vision and effective strategy to strengthen the newsroom’s journalism and culture as well as its ability to better understand and reflect the diverse communities we cover and serve.

As the managing editor, you are central to the success of our strategic priority to grow and diversify our audience through better understanding listeners’ needs and interests. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our strategic priorities from superior content creation and curation to leading our staff to fully harness the technological tools and practices essential to growing engagement and relevance in a dynamic digital landscape. Simply put, this is one of the best leadership roles in public media. From the resources we have to do consistently excellent work and the supportive members and other listeners who depend on us to help them make sense of the world to the opportunities to elevate our work and deepen our community connections, the managing editor will have a huge impact on our company and our region.
