News Reporter

The Download writer/news reporter’s role will be formed of two halves. Mornings will comprise writing and compiling The Download, MIT TR’s most important newsletter. In the afternoon the news reporter will act as a general assignment reporter, pitching, reporting and writing news stories across all of Technology Review’s core beats. The newsletter writer must find ways to promote our own stories in the newsletter in a way that makes them a fun standalone read, but that also drives engagement and brings people back to the site. Every day, the reporter will find the most engaging, useful, informative and must-read stories about technology on the internet and compile them in a list that is packed full of fun and voice. The writer will be respsible for making sure the high standard of the Download are maintained—and that it goes out in a timely manner every morning. They will work with the news editor to come up with ways to improve, refresh and hone the newsletter.
