We’re hiring a Social Media and Distribution Intern to join our growing team. The Social Media & Distribution Intern will write, create, and publish content that expands our organization’s impact and drives audience growth and engagement across multiple social platforms. They will produce social content, articles, and graphics, schedule posts, help develop and execute our publishing strategy, and translate performance results into actionable insights.

The Social Media & Distribution Intern must be a regular user of social media with a passion for, and substantial knowledge of, national politics and economic justice issues. We’re looking for capable and creative writers who are up for drafting everything from social media captions to authoritative articles. The position requires exceptional interpersonal communication skills, an advanced understanding of social platforms, and a desire to help develop and grow our brand.

Core Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of social distribution, including scheduling content, community management, and optimizing posts for engagement and search;

Create a broad range of written content, from social copy to explanatory slideshows and articles, usually on tight deadlines;

Help build distribution plans and strategies to increase engagement with our content;

Help maintain social media editorial calendar;

Update website regularly with new videos and content;

Monitor analytics, audience sentiments, and social media trends;

Receive assignments from supervisor and colleagues for prompt action;

Operate in a nimble environment;

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

Passion for, and substantial knowledge of, national politics and economic justice issues;

Regular user of social media;

An excellent writer, communicator and collaborator, with strong interpersonal skills;

Able to craft a distribution strategy for a particular video or story based on its topic and target audience;

A self-starter who pays close attention to detail and is highly organized and capable of meeting tight deadlines;

Available full-time hours and able to excel in a remote/work-from-home environment.
