SEO Writer (Tax)

Our client, a business software company that specializes in financial software, is actively looking for a SEO Writer (Tax) to join their Tax SEO team in Mountain View, CA! This role is fully remote however candidates should be comfortable working PST hours.

***This is a 1 year initial contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion***

The team is looking for a CPA or Enrolled Agent with outstanding writing, editing, and communications skills to join the SEO team and act as a Tax Expert Writer. This person will be responsible for creating tax tip content to inform and empower customers and prospects via their website/mobile app for a well-known tax product.

The perfect candidate has strong tax expertise, actively keeps up with the latest tax law changes and trends, and is able to translate complex tax code into simple language!

Responsibilities

Partner with the SEO team to create and write new tax accurate tax article content based off of content gaps, tax law changes, or trending topics on the company’s website/mobile app for a well-known tax product
Major and minor rewrites and refreshes of existing tax article content to update for tax law changes, re-optimize for search engines, or improving the readability of the content
Collaborate closely with a Content Editor to follow an editorial calendar for new and refreshed content review schedule and ensure work is delivered on time
Work closely with a CPA and Content Editor to ensure new and refreshed content are accurate to tax law and follow the product’s brand voice and tone
Support review of other content types (articles, blurbs, videos, infographics, images, podcasts) for tax accuracy

Required Skills & Experience

Journalism or related degree
Current CPA or Enrolled Agent credentials
5+ years of relevant professional experience
Strong personal/business tax expertise and current on new tax laws and trends
Ability to research and break down complex tax topics into easily understandable concepts
Ability to translate complex topics into easy to understand written language for consumers
Strong communication, writing, and editing skills
Knowledge of SEO a plus
Experience with Wordpress a plus
Bilingual a plus
