The 100 Mile House Free Press is looking to hire two full-time multi-media reporters to join our vibrant 100 Mile House team.
These positions, located in 100 Mile House, are ideal for journalists who have a passion for storytelling and are looking for a small-town lifestyle.
As a community reporter you’ll get to cover a full range of news, community features, arts, culture and sports that will be published locally and potentially across Black Press Media’s Western Canadian network.
About 100 Mile House:
Nestled in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, 100 Mile House offers nearly every kind of outdoor adventure – both in summer and winter – from skiing to swimming and hiking. In fact, 100 Mile House is ideal for downhill and Nordic skiers alike, with the area offering a 200-kilometre trail system. The region is rich in history, in fact initially serving as as a stop on the old Cariboo Road during the Cariboo Gold Rush.

Qualifications
The successful candidates will have the following skills and talents:
Superior writing ability for print and web.
Competence in photography, videography and editing.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and is keen to learn and develop their skillsets.
Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, iMovie, and Canadian Press style.
We are looking for someone who prides themselves to be a team player, able to multi-task and work in a complex digital and print publishing environment.
Applicants must be able to legally work in Canada and hold a valid driver’s licence. A reliable vehicle and smartphone are required.
