The Chemical Sensitivity Podcast is dedicated to amplifying the voices of people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), also known as Environmental Illness (EI), Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance (TILT).
In Canada, more than a million people have been diagnosed with MCS.
Studies show that in the U.S., more than 35 per cent of the population reports some degree of intolerance to synthetic chemicals commonly found in fragrances, cleaning products, bath and beauty products, construction materials, and more.
The Chemical Sensitivity Podcast is seeking an experienced, innovative, and highly motivated multimedia editor/social media producer with a deep understanding of audio-video editing, social media production, and event planning.
The multimedia editor/social media producer will be responsible for editing audio and video interviews with researchers and people with MCS, and conceptualizing and producing content for the podcast’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok. The producer will also draw on their experience in event planning to collaboratively plan and organize an online event.
We are looking for someone with a passion for working in multimedia editing, podcasting, social media production, and event planning. You should have a proven-track record of excellence in audio-video editing, outstanding and creative social media production experience, and experience working on health-related or disability issues.
This producer will work remotely and participate in weekly production meetings online. They will be able to take initiative, embrace and incorporate feedback, and use innovative and creative skills along with strategic thinking to achieve measurable results.

Key Responsibilities:
Editing audio and video interviews.
Developing highly engaging social media content that promotes the podcast and engages the public.
Researching, collaborating, and brainstorming with the podcast team to identify future guests.
Staying up-to-date with social media trends and innovation.
Monitoring metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the reach of the podcast.
Planning an online event, which will include website design, social media production, coordinating registration, scheduling, and more.
Writing periodic reports about the podcast’s deliverables and reach.
Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the podcast director.

Qualifications
Proven track record of excellence in editing audio and video interviews/podcasts. A portfolio with examples of the work is vital.
Experience and interest in working on health / disability-related issues.
Outstanding and innovative social media skills.
Experience and skills in website design.
Experience with online event planning and promotion.
Degree/Diploma in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in audio and video editing + social media production.
Expert knowledge of major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, with a strong understanding of their best practices and algorithms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating creativity and meeting challenging timelines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high content standards.
Positive, collegial, proactive, and collaborative team player.
