Multimedia Journalist - On-Camera Reporter
Video Journalist responsible for telling the story of the City of Denton through traditional reporting and new media technologies. Serve as the primary on-air reporter within the Denton Television team, tasked with creating compelling and timely communications. This individual will get to the heart of the story by talking to stakeholders and taking ownership of the entire storytelling process. Writing and storytelling must be a passion, requiring a motivated self-starter with good news judgment to create professional stories in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES
On-camera reporter responsible for the entire story-telling process.
Interview individuals and gather information for stories; possess the innate curiosity and sense of urgency to create compelling stories.
Write scripts, shoot footage, conduct live and/or recorded reporting and identify appropriate distribution platform.
Conduct research to identify topics of interest to the Denton community and pitch story ideas to Denton Television Manager; receive assignments and meet established deadlines.
Gather information about breaking news stories through research and interviews with sources.
Collect and organize images and video footage for use in stories; edit video footage of events or programs for broadcast or online use.
Contribute content for City of Denton social media accounts to build brand reputation.
Interact with elected officials, City of Denton leadership, staff, businesses, non-profits, and community stakeholders.
Ensure that materials and productions align with the City of Denton’s brand, mission, values and goals, and that organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
Attend special events or breaking news incidents to increase stakeholder engagement or advance interest in the City of Denton.
Utilizes video production equipment and software including Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere.
