Meet the Press seeks an accomplished and innovative Audience Editor, Cross Platform to join the team. The newly created position of Audience Editor, Cross Platform will focus on understanding the Meet the Press audience, and converting audience insights into strategies that grow engagement and loyalty on social and digital platforms. The Audience Editor, Cross Platform should be a strong writer who has experience in politics, campaigns and breaking news. The Audience Editor, Cross Platform is an expert in social media trends and digital consumption habits. This person is a super-user on both the platforms and the data analytics tools and they are motivated to identify audience behaviors that can be developed into an actionable plan for growth. More than anything else, the Audience Editor, Cross Platform will think deeply about what the Meet the Press audience wants and how we can meet that need. The person in this position will participate in recurring editorial conversations for all three of MTP’s linear productions and will bring both an analytical and editorial perspective to these discussions. They will generate pitches for linear and cross-platform programming and will execute or support production for both. This position will be based in Washington, DC and the audience editor will work a Monday to Friday schedule with some weekend duties during peak political seasons.
