News Editor

We are seeking a player/coach news editor to cover and edit a wide variety of news for three weekly papers in Lancaster and Saunders counties — the Ashland Gazette, Wahoo Newspaper and Waverly News. Coverage includes government, public safety, sports and features for print and digital publications. This position will also assemble content for these publications, supervise news staff and meet publication deadlines. The position offices out of the Lincoln Journal Star (Lincoln, Nebraska) and will travel as needed to the Wahoo office and into the communities to cover stories.

The ability to work in a print and digital environment is essential. A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and a minimum of a year of multi-media journalism is preferred. New graduates with college editing experience are welcome to apply.
