A recent General Excellence winner for best of show in Oklahoma’s Associated Press contest, the News & Eagle is a frequent sweepstakes winner in the Oklahoma Press Association’s largest division. The regional daily was recognized with a statewide Freedom of Information Award for its successful lawsuit supporting the public’s First Amendment right of access to sealed court records. The News & Eagle’s “Under Pressure” project won the nationwide Associated Press Media Editors’ Community Journalism Public Service Initiative award.
