Managing Editor, US Digital News

New Posted 3 July 2020 | New York, NY | Newsweek

Newsweek is looking to hire an experienced digital editor to oversee national and business reporting across its US digital newsroom. The managing editor will certainly be a digital native, able to leap on a major story as it breaks, although this will not be a core responsibility. She/he will be primarily be a mentor and editor for our more ambitious digital reporters. The ideal candidate will have her/his finger on the pulse of the main stories dominating the conversation across the United States and help elevate the smartest ideas of our reporters into timely, impactful journalism. When no great ideas are bubbling up from the newsroom floor, the managing editors should have enough of her/his own to keep an army of reporters busy. The editor will be superbly organized and lead long-term planning across reporting teams, helping build a culture of anticipatory journalism.
