Newsweek is looking for a Senior Editor to join its magazine team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both print and digital journalism and in editing both long-form journalism and shorter stories. The candidate will be a keen follower of the news and cultural trends and have a good eye for fresh angles and innovative approaches to stories on a variety of topics, from politics and business to technology and culture. Reporting to the Deputy Editor in Chief, the senior editor will share responsibility, along with the rest of the magazine team, for the full range of content in print, from highly formatted department pieces to short stories to multi-page cover packages and franchises, shepherding these pieces through the print production process and building out the content online. The candidate should be a highly-skilled line editor, as well as a talented writer and rewrite person; ideally, the senior editor will also contribute great ideas, pitching concepts that add to Newsweek’s authority and engage our broad audience of 100 million monthly readers.
