Mile Higher Media has been creating online content for over 10 years. Mile Higher Media is a multi media company consisting of several podcasts and YouTube channels. Their mission is to create content through new media that is entertaining, thought provoking, unique, informative, and inspirational. With that, the team is looking for an experienced and motivated writer and researcher with a passion for true crime and victim advocacy.
Responsibilities
Research topics using news articles, documentaries, other podcasts, YouTube videos, and other reputable sources
Write original scripts that are easy to follow and flow in chronological order for target audience of 18 to 35-year-olds
Managing content creator's Twitter. Composing 3-4 tweets daily having to do with advocacy, merch updates, campaigns, etc.
One-on-one communication with family during family-involved YouTube videos: running email correspondence, setting up calls with families, explaining the video filming and uploading process, reminding families of deadlines, reviewing to make sure their clips are done accurately, etc.
Communicating with National Center for Missing and Exploited Children: Current campaigns they’re running, making sure we’re following our contract Submitting content creator's work to be featured in news articles, stations, etc.
Work through viewer case submissions form to find cases that would be good to cover.
Key Qualities
Bachelor's degree in creative writing or journalism preferred
Must have previous experience in researching and writing
Great organizational skills
Good understanding of social media platforms and how to best utilize them Interest in advocacy and true crime
Team oriented
Someone who’s familiar with podcasting, social media and the YouTube industry
