The Media Relations Specialist supports the Media Relations team in creating and executing impactful integrated public relations campaigns, promoting the Firm and our attorneys notable work and thought leadership across litigation, transactions, and pro bono, while also serving as the team lead for reporting and insights. Collaborate with attorneys, communications and business development colleagues to identify newsworthy industry trends, firm-advised deals, and potential litigation milestones.
Write press releases on a regular basis and coordinate the Firm’s external-facing newsroom and media highlights.
Assist team members with developing briefing sheets and talking points prior to media interviews.
Edit and distribute daily firm-wide internal newsletter highlighting recent media coverage.
Support the Media Relations team by identifying key media targets and building/updating media lists.
Serve as the team lead for media monitoring and tracking, as well as developing quarterly media relations impact reports that are shared with Firm leaders.
Maintain and improve the Media Relations team’s document management system.
Accumulate editorial calendars from priority publications and share potential opportunities for bylined articles and third-party commentary.

2-4 years of experience in journalism and/or public relations experience, preferably within a law firm, public relations agency, or a professional services environment. Social media experience encouraged.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field required.
Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Proficient editing and proofreading skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to build productive relationships with personnel at all levels, including attorneys and key stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with strict timelines.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work productively with a variety of personalities.
