The Morning Edition and Up First podcast team are seeking a skilled, creative journalist to join its ranks as Editor II. The Editor II develops and pitches timely, original program content for NPR’s morning flagship program. He/she uses established connections to book timely, impactful interviews. The Editor II writes and edits scripts for broadcast, including during breaking news. He/She plans and manages large projects and initiatives such as series and host field trips. The Editor II provides support for the host in preparing for interviews, and editorial guidance of show and podcast content/reporting. The Editor II must be available to rotate into a variety of shifts, including overnight, swing and dayside.
