Senior Editor - Business Desk

NPR’s Business Desk is looking for a Senior Editor to help drive and manage news coverage. The candidate should have deep knowledge of business news, with an understanding of the economy, financial markets, media, consumer finance, workplace and technology. We are looking for a big-picture thinker who has a passion for storytelling and crafting coverage strategy, an understanding of NPR's audience, and a sense of fun.

We expect this person to bring creativity, energy and sophistication to our business-coverage, qualities that align with NPR's mission of providing original reporting, insightful analysis and high level explanatory journalism. The editor must have excellent news judgment, the ability to work under deadline pressure and work collaboratively with editors across the network.

The job includes preparation of on-air material as well as content for digital and social platforms. This editor oversees the editorial integrity and quality of content, monitors and evaluates staff performance. Under the direction of the Chief Business Editor, and in collaboration with other key news leaders, the Senior Editor will be involved in overall conception and vision of NPR’s business coverage on all platforms.
