Digital Content Producer (Part-Time)

The New York Post is seeking a PT Digital Content Producer/Reporter (Sun-Tues.,11pm-7am) to join our overnight team. This is an opportunity to become part of an iconic media organization and its digital success story. You will be working closely with a great team of digital journalists to produce and craft a range of compelling stories, spanning news, sports and features, across our site. This is an overnight shift for up to 24 hours a week, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Responsibilities:

Produce and package stories for online, mobile and tablet, reaching millions of readers each night
Write and report on a range of topics – from crime to celebrity news
Write smart, pithy headlines that grab readers’ attention
Use social media and digital tools for news gathering and discovery
Monitor traffic and overall site metrics
Work cooperatively as a team member under tight deadlines

The ideal candidate will have:

2+ years’ experience in an online news environment
Ability to leverage multimedia content to enhance stories and user experience
Journalism chops; understanding what to promote, what is breaking news
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Familiarity with content management systems, photo editing software, SEO and web analytics tools a plus

Salary Range: $31,200 – $125,000
