The New York Post Features Department is looking for a full-time Fashion & Beauty Editor plugged into seasonal runway must-haves and global “fashion weeks,” with a sharp eye for online style trends and attention-grabbing beauty tips or hacks. This individual must be a self-starter with excellent contacts and an awareness of what’s next. The candidate will be expected to write and publish breaking fashion and beauty news on deadline, while reporting out an array of engaging fashion-related features. This might include digging into the debate over a controversial brand; finding real people/experts to add authoritative depth to copy; and debunking popular online beauty tips/myths while offering expert-backed tips for what actually works in the world of products. This position is on a Tuesday-Saturday, 8 to 4 p.m. schedule.
Responsibilities:
Report, write and publish breaking fashion and beauty news for nypost.com, as well as feature articles of varying lengths
Generate a continuous stream of pitches with timely news pegs and fresh angles
Produce lively, informative and well-sourced copy to self-publish on deadline
Assign general assignment Lifestyle stories to a reporter on weekly weekend shift
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of three years’ experience as a fashion/trend editor or writer
Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS, Photoshop and web analytics preferred
Ability to work a full-time schedule, with flexibility in scheduling for weekend days
Note: The NY Post has returned to office in a hybrid model.
Salary Range: $50,000 – $145,000
