Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.
The New York Post is seeking a knowledgeable part-time Reporter (~24 hours per week) to join the Page Six digital team.
Note: This position is a temporary six month opportunity, with a possible extension. The first three months would include morning weekday coverage and the following months would include evening weekday coverage. We are also looking for someone who is flexible and open to working weekends if/when needed.
Candidates are expected to:
Pitch and write multiple celebrity- and entertainment-based stories daily
Have your finger on the pulse of what fans are talking about and the ability to create content that fits their interests
Be a self-starter and work quickly and efficiently on a pared-down weekend team
Have an understanding of SEO best practices and analytics and use that knowledge to help guide coverage
Work up to 24 hours per week, including some weekends
Qualifications:
At least two years of major journalism experience (an established network of contacts is a plus)
Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom and in breaking-news situations
A deep understanding of and passion for all things celebrity and entertainment
Exceptional writing and reporting skills
Ability to write succinct, eye-catching headlines and clean, ready-to-publish content
Knowledge and understanding of SEO best practices
Strong editorial judgment and communication skills
Familiarity with content management systems, photo editing software and web analytics tools

Salary Range: $25/hr – $35/hr
