The Page Six video team is seeking an in-office Video Producer to help us distribute existing series and create compelling, shareable videos about gossip, celebrities, reality TV and fashion – subjects that are the mainstay of the nation’s most iconic gossip column. This producer will be responsible for breaking news and series videos that will be created in our new state of the art studio.

The candidate should love celebrity journalism and possess deep knowledge about the latest celebrity gossip, feuds, scandals and hookups. They should live and breathe celebrity lifestyle, fashion and social media, with their fingers on the pulse.

This is a fast-paced job that requires a love of all things celebrity, a strong editorial sense and the ability to stay organized while multitasking. Like us, you believe news doesn’t have to be boring and you appreciate the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones.

Note: This is a five day a week in office job.

Responsibilities:

You will communicate closely with the Executive Producer and Supervising Producer about the best approaches and priorities for video, managing evergreen videos and identifying needs and pitching video ideas.

Direct on-camera talent in studio when needed: Page Six anchor and other reporters, commentators and celebrity guests
Create and be able to edit shareable videos on a variety of celebrity news topics
Have an editorial eye to anticipate big stories before they trend
Develop creative productions that resonate with the audience
Work autonomously in a fast-paced newsroom environment on daily deadlines
Work on quick-turnaround projects, and on bigger evergreen videos, which you will research, write, and edit
You will also be a key point of contact for many other teams throughout the newsroom and social.

Know about video on all platforms and have a knowledge of what videos perform well on Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter. Must be aware of latest formats and trends in digital video as a distinct form of content versus television.
Prioritize instantly, plan for contingencies, & manage all elements of a production
Pitch video ideas daily and contribute to team brainstorming.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Thorough knowledge of studio and control room operations
Daily newsroom experience is key. Candidates should have experience working in a state-of-the-art, fast paced, live control room environment
Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere
Experience with Airtable, WordPress, Parsley and JW Player CMS a plus
Ability to work very quickly under pressure and juggle dozens of videos throughout the day
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required. This applicant must always exhibit professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a ‘can do’ positive attitude.
Organized, resourceful, and a team player
Be willing to work non traditional hours such as holidays, nights and big tentpole events when needed
