The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is a growing, global nonprofit media organization that is reinventing investigative journalism for the public good. By developing and equipping a worldwide network of investigative journalists and publishing their stories, we expose crime and corruption so the public can hold power to account. Position Overview
OCCRP is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to assist OCCRP’s Editor-in-Chief with communications, logistics, and editorial priorities.
The assistant will be responsible for coordinating with the Editor-in-Chief, other senior management, editorial staff, as well as additional organization teams on daily tasks and longer-term projects. The assistant will also liaise with the programs and development teams to contribute to grants development, reporting, and fundraising efforts.
This position will be a key link between multiple departments at OCCRP as well as OCCRP and its external partners. Therefore, the assistant must possess excellent communication acumen, time management skills, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience with international NGOs and working closely with executives. Knowledge of investigative journalism is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Editor-in-Chief’s internal and external communications and schedule.
Provide logistic and administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief.
Coordinate events and projects for management.
Assist in facilitating efficient workflow among editors, designers, and product team members.
Provide support to programs and development teams with grant management and development.
Assist in streamlining relevant organizational processes.
Additional responsibilities as determined by management.

Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience working for nonprofits or NGOs.
Experience working as an assistant to executives.
Proficiency with cloud based systems and Excel.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Must be able to keep organization matters strictly confidential.
An understanding of investigative journalism, data science, and/or international development preferred.
