The Omaha World-Herald is seeking an energetic, multitalented editor to handle some of the most vibrant beats in Omaha.
Omaha is home to nearly 500,000 people, as well a lively arts and food scene. This editor will passionately plug in to that scene in Nebraska’s largest city. Omaha’s recently revamped riverfront has attracted millions in the months since it opened; its worldclass CHI Health Center Omaha attracts national performing acts and sports events; and it is continuing to revitalize for the modern age.
This experienced editor should be a strategic digital thinker who would handle trending and entertainment news and enterprise. They should be comfortable with alternative formats, social media and exploring new digital mediums for delivering the news. They will also play a leading role in managing The World-Herald’s weekly print Living section, selecting the articles and photos and collaborating with teams throughout Lee Enterprises.
The editor will be joining a newsroom that includes talented veterans and newer, passionate journalists, who have a dedication to their craft, Omaha and Nebraska. The successful candidate should be a coach who thrives on working with journalists and helping them improve their work, while retaining their voice. They should also be excited about the possibility of writing their own pieces on occasion.
