The Omaha World-Herald seeks an ambitious, enterprising beat reporter to cover Creighton athletics, particularly the men’s basketball team, which advanced to the Elite Eight in 2023 and figures to be a Final Four contender for the 2024 season. Cover the Big East – one of the nation’s oldest and best homes for college basketball – and CU, a program that perennially punches above its weight in a variety of sports, including volleyball and women’s basketball. Ideal candidates have a passion for the pace of a busy college season and balancing the daily beat work with larger features and in-depth analysis. This role co-hosts a popular podcast and in the summer has opportunities to cover big events like the College World Series.
