About the Role:
As a Senior Editor you will be responsible for reporting and news focused on the U.S. solar supply chain market. You will report on daily market pricing & market fundamentals and create alerts relevant to the solar market industry.
You Will:
Accumulate spot market price transactions and market intelligence for solar cells and solar panels made in the U.S. from industry participants via email, instant messaging, and by phone
Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology to create weekly price assessments
Write breaking news stories for real-time news service and longer feature content focusing on solar industry trends and emerging issues, adhering to strict deadlines
Develop and maintain rapport with contacts in the US solar industry which includes liaising with major industry producers, consumers, traders, brokers and other participants to collect bids, offers, and spot deals
Maintain and expand internal solar database
Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis
Travel domestically and internationally to represent OPIS at client meetings and industry events
You Have:
Five years’ experience as analyst or professional reporter within the energy markets or a related field generating story ideas and exclusive content
Experience translating technical materials into content that engages and instructs readers
Solid grasp of math fundamentals and spreadsheet formulas
Commitment to meeting strict deadlines with accuracy
Worked within a flexible, global team environment (preferred)
Experience of public speaking to small and large groups (preferred)
Practical network of established industry contacts (preferred)
Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, economics, business, finance, English, or relevant field (preferred)
