If you are a local peacebuilder, or a journalist with strong connections to local peacebuilding in your area, please send us a pitch for content to be considered for publication on Peace Insight.
Filling in this form does not guarantee publication, so please do not send finished content/articles. We're looking for ideas for content, which we will develop with you.
When writing your pitch, remember that Peace Insight is focused on the power of local peacebuilding. So, although your pitch may explore a conflict in a particular region, for example, it should focus on highlighting relevant local peacebuilding efforts by non-governmental organisations or individuals. Highlight the style and impact of the peacebuilding work, and consider what lessons it offers others. The readers of Peace Insight should be able to learn about innovative peacebuilding methods or learn something about the particular challenges facing peacebuilders in the region.
Examples of content we consider: written articles (800-900 words), including profiles/interviews, plus videos, photo essays and more.
Fees depend on the format of the content - ie multimedia vs written. However, we can offer £170 maximum for articles of 800-900 words. Shorter, news style updates of up to 500 words will receive £150.
We also have editorial standards we need our contributors to meet, including: the focus on local
peacebuilding efforts, a high level of readability/accessibility, any facts thoroughly checked, and references included
where relevant. Peace Insight is managed by Peace Direct, and core values that inform our editorial policy include non-violence, dignity and respect, inclusion, trust and courage.
