Beat: Photojournalist
Position: The Banner is seeking a creative photojournalist to shoot both still and video images. You’ll work with a talented group of reporters and editors across a variety of media as we grow our newsroom in 2024. Our backgrounds are in newspapers, radio, TV, alt-weeklies and more. We’re a digital news site that focuses on the people, culture and institutions that drive our community. We like to break news, but we’ll never rush a story. You’ll play an important role in helping connect our journalism to our audience and your work will appear online and in our partner TV and print publications.
Job Requirements:
Shoot, edit and caption photos in AP style for multiple assignments per week
Shoot and edit video for use in documentary-style stories
Must be able to hit a deadline
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Impeccable journalistic ethics
At least one year of experience working as a staff photographer for a weekly or daily newspaper
Salary and Benefits: $50-55,000. This is a full-time, exempt position and includes the following benefits: medical, vision and dental insurance, paid holidays, paid sick leave and a Banner-issued laptop.
