Deals Writer

This position is remote and freelance.

Pocket-lint is looking for deals writers to cover relevant and up-to-date informative tech content, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Pocket-lint.com is a trusted global authority on all things consumer tech. We offer news, reviews, buyer's guides, deals, opinion, and video on the latest tech hardware and gadgets -- from phones and wearables to TVs and smart home devices and much more.

We're looking for someone who can write quick, compelling individual stories spotlighting single deals. The Deals Writer should be able to effectively spotlight potential strengths and weaknesses of each product and advise consumers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. This writer should be proficient in using other common deal aggregation websites to find currently-available deals. They should be competent in researching products online, using manufacturer websites and newsrooms, as well as product reviews on third-party retailers, such as Amazon.com or Newegg.com, to summarize what potential buyers need to know about the discounted products.

Job Responsibilities

Ability to contribute reliably and consistently to our deals operation under tight deadlines (20 to 80 per month - depending on the time of year).
Willing to input work into our in-house CMS, as well as find and format images, according to our guidelines.
Stay up to date on the latest tech news, products and updates.
Coordinate with the editorial team for assignments and feedback.

Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following requirements

Relevant experience in writing and editing in the English language.
Experience with Deals posts
Expert knowledge and broad familiarity of different tech devices.
SEO knowledge is strongly preferred.
