The Lewiston Tribune is looking for a full-time reporter to cover the Idaho Legislature while it is in session, typically January through March in Boise, and also report on statewide issues, politics and some general assignments the remainder of the year. Qualified candidates will have a basic understanding of the legislative process and the skills needed to gather and share news both in print and online. The Lewiston Tribune, a six-day-a-week publication, is the main source for news in the Idaho and Washington border cities of Lewiston and Clarkston, Moscow and Pullman, and the surrounding region. It also is one of the last remaining media outlets that staffs the Idaho Statehouse every year during the legislative session. This position provides a competitive pay, health care, benefits package and employee stock option. A housing stipend is provided while the Legislature is in session. It also has the job security that comes with working for a 130-year-old family- and employee-owned newspaper. The goal is to have this position filled by mid-December to allow for some crossover time with our current Statehouse and political reporter who is retiring at the end of the year. Please send a cover letter, resume, references and clips to Lewiston Tribune Managing Editor Craig Clohessy at cclohessy@lmtribune.com.
