Defense Technology and Influence Reporter

POLITICO is seeking an experienced reporter to cover influence and emerging technology for our growing Defense team. You will be expected to break news on lobbying efforts and the politics of defense influence while identifying the key players working behind the scenes to steer funding on Capitol Hill. You will also be responsible for getting scoops on cutting-edge defense technology, from hypersonic weapons to AI to uncrewed ships, aircraft and vehicles. We are looking for a hungry reporter who already breaks news on the defense beat and is ready to take their reporting to the next level. You’ll join a crew of scoop-driven, agenda-setting reporters who cover Pentagon leadership, Capitol Hill, major defense programs and space. You’ll dig up the newest intel for influential subscribers, and team up with our White House, Congress and national security reporters to break the big stories.
