Deputy Nightly Editor

We’re looking for a skilled, enterprising Deputy Nightly Editor to help edit, report, produce and lead one of POLITICO’s biggest newsletters. POLITICO Nightly’s mission to give readers “tomorrow’s conversation, tonight” needs a strong, ambitious, innovative journalist who can do everything from brainstorming unique story ideas to collaborating with top newsroom leaders to reporting items that tell our large and news-hungry audience things they don’t already know to producing an eye-catching and visually appealing product. The newsletter has become a leader in politics and policy news, covering a wide array of stories such as the Covid pandemic, the Ukraine crisis, the midterm elections and much more. Ideal candidates will be eager to generate new ideas and bring new insights every day to an influential, informed audience. You’ll be a key member of a small, collaborative team. The Deputy Editor will be the lead producer of the newsletter, but that is only one key aspect of a job that is broad as it is fun and creative.
