Editor, Political Data Unit

POLITICO is seeking an enterprising and energetic editor to lead a reporting team focused on political data: researching, compiling and analyzing it for stories, graphics and more. The job requires a love of data and expertise working with it. Keen knowledge of politics and a passion for covering it are paramount. So is a collaborative spirit: The unit that this editor leads will be part of the politics team, and it will partner often with reporters who cover campaigns as well as Congress, the White House, policy and more. We are looking for someone with the ability to work with reporters and researchers to bring their best ideas to fruition — from brainstorming novel approaches to political data reporting, to bringing ideas from that process to publication. This is one of Washington’s most exciting and challenging beats, especially as we head into the 2024 election cycle — and the editor will play a crucial part in ensuring our best-in-class campaign coverage excels against stiff competition.
