POLITICO’s Florida team is seeking an editorial intern to work in its Tallahassee bureau in the Spring of 2024, reporting from the state Capitol. The intern will play a critical role in our coverage of the state legislative session and the governor.

Hours: 20 Per Week
Compensation: $23/HR
What You’ll Do:
Our interns are an integral part of our reporting team during the legislative session. You’ll help cover legislation, lawmakers, the governor, state agencies and Florida politics
The intern will be involved in all aspects of story creation and production, including research, reporting, writing and aggregating, including for newsletters
Contribute to the reporting of a dynamic team covering policy and politics for both in-state and national audiences
What You’ll Need:
A can-do attitude, initiative, good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
The ability to write quickly and cleanly while on deadline
A passion for politics/policy and a thirst to learn about Florida politics and government
A collaborative spirit to work as part of a team
A commitment to fair-minded, nonpartisan journalism
3-5 clips original clips are preferred
We welcome applicants who are recent graduates. Applicants who are still in school must, at least, be rising juniors. The ideal applicant will have experience at a school publication and/or previous experience at a professional news outlet.
