POLITICO is seeking an experienced journalist to cover food & agriculture policy, a dynamic beat tackling a wide range of issues including nutrition, climate change and the future of the world’s food supply. This reporter will help us cover issues on Capitol Hill and across Washington related to food and agriculture, including the USDA budget, upcoming farm bill, antitrust issues and the social safety net. You’ll write for all platforms of POLITICO with a mix of dailies for a plugged-in professional audience and strong enterprise stories for a general-interest audience. You will also contribute to our popular daily newsletter, Morning Agriculture. At least three years of professional journalism experience is required, with a strong track record of delivering high-impact scoops and revelatory enterprise. Journalistic experience in covering the farm bill, congressional rural policy and/or agribusiness is helpful.
