POLITICO is seeking a smart, enterprising reporter to cover technology policy and politics, with a special focus on federal and state investigations of the tech industry and the lobbying and influence operations of the largest technology companies. We’re looking for someone who can own one of the biggest stories of our day: the fight over how big is too big. It means holding some of the world’s largest companies to account, and producing journalism that will be essential reading for anyone who cares about antitrust — whether that’s inside agencies, in governments, among corporate competitors or ordinary consumers. The ideal candidate possesses substantial experience covering tech policy, a passion for politics, a thirst for breaking scoops and strong writing skills. Experience covering the Justice Department, the Federal Trade Commission or Capitol Hill is a plus.
